Magical Abilities

Psychometry When touching an object with his bare skin Kale is able to pick up the memories of what was the last thing that happened with that object as well as the emotional feelings of the person using the object. If someone held a knife in anger and stabbed someone, he'll feel the anger and see who it stabbed. The stronger the personality/powerful/older the person is the more likely that Kale will "pick up" a bit of their personality traits for a while.

For example: If Kale were to use his abilities on an ordinary screwdriver then he'd just see what happened. However if he used them on the Doctor's sonic screwdriver he'd get his head rattled around and think he was the Doctor for a bit. Even if the Doctor wasn't the last person to use the screwdriver because he's such a powerful being and the sonic screwdriver is Very His.

As he doesn't like getting his head rattled around (or possibly put into a coma which has happened) he generally keeps his bare hands off of stuff and wears his gloves.

Technomancy This allows allows Kale to “tap into and read technological devices and, in some cases, control them”. (Based off the technometry ability in the Star Wars roleplaying game: Clone Wars Campaign Guide, which was quoted). He describes it as being able to “talk” to machines. He doesn’t talk to an AI if a machine has one so much as the mechanical parts. His technomancy allows him to convince machines to do what he wants. Like convince them that he put in the correct access code to let him into a building. However the more complex the machine in regards to computers, the harder it is for him to do this. Making an iPad do what he wants is a lot easier than making a complex security system that’s part of a high tech company do what he wants. The technomancuy also allows him to get a sense of the mechanical workings of a machine as if he were looking under its hood. Though, again, the larger and more complicated or advance a system is, the harder it is for him to do it.

Hero's Luck This is the sort of luck that a person has that lets them get out of a scrape in the knick of time - a good example being Indiana Jones being able to just get under the closing door out from the trap and grab his hat as well. Or just being able to leap across the building. Or having a bullet just miss killing him. This, however, only tends to kick in when he’s protecting people - or being heroic as it’s hero’s luck. So, if he’s doing something maliciously it’s not likely going to work.

Land Ties He has a “land sense” which is tied explicitly to his world. It’s his magical connection to Eire because of being one of the royal family. (This is highly unlikely to come into play at any point)

Permissions notes on Magic Considering that Kale’s technomancy and psychometry is explicitly tied to his world’s magic and used that magic to do things, it’s entirely possible that he will have a hard time doing this to machines without magic in them or a different world’s magic. He might not be able to do it at all because of this.

If you don't wish for Kale to pick up anything from objects he touches please let me know. If you would like him to pick up something, also please let me know and we can discuss what he picks up - especially if your character is a rather powerful person.

Kale is not exactly someone who is naturally violent so much as someone who sees violence as a perfectly logical solution to many problems. It’s a bit of a blind spot in his way of thinking. He doesn’t see what’s wrong with carrying a weapon everywhere, or multiple ones. He gets that other people don’t do it, but he doesn’t really understand why. He’s currently learning the concept that real diplomacy doesn’t involve leaving someone alive with a broken leg as opposed to killing them and putting their head on a pike.

He doesn’t do random violence but he sees nothing wrong with hunting down someone who has been killing people and putting them down so they can’t hurt others. It’s this idea of making sure someone can’t hurt others that’s a driving force of his way of thinking. He must protect other people from harm, even if it means getting hurt or killed himself or someone else getting hurt or killed.

Obviously something like this will be needed to be discussed before any actions take place. Please feel free to leave a comment or message me so that such discussions can be made about what might happen in a possible combat situation.
Other Note of Import
Kale is Trever Daly’s ([personal profile] reincarnshaman ) identical twin brother and in any situation where the two of them are together they will be sharing information. This information sharing also includes their uncle Rory McCallum [personal profile] crowschild if he is also involved in such a situation. Ceilidh McCallum [personal profile] princessstabbity is Trever’s little cousin however they won’t be sharing information with her because she’s five and a blabbermouth. However she might tell them things in long expansive rambling stories. If you don't wish information to be shared, please let Kale know In Character.

Just to say, if Kale ever does get to handle Phoenix's goods, it's perfectly okay for him to pick anything up from it that you want him to.

What double-entendre?
